Schedule:
35 hours per week.
A vacancy exists in the Department of Aging for an Activity Coordinator.

Job PurposeUnder the supervision of the senior center director, provides administrative, operational, programming, and technical assistance, enters data into Well Sky and My Senior Center , and assists with program registration and membership renewals.
EssentialJob Duties
- Registers new members, renews current members’ membership forms, and collects enhancement donations.
- Enters data into Well Sky and other software (such as My Senior Center and Survey Monkey).
- Assists members with accessing My Senior Center and OPAL programs.
- In the absence of, or in collaboration with, a volunteer, provides front desk coverage, including answering the telephone and answering in-person questions.
- In the absence of staff or a council member, accepts payment for council special events, accepts travel payments and places them in the drop box, greets members and guests, and sells County Ride tickets.
- Attends senior center team meetings.
- Assists in completing reports as needed, as assigned by the senior center director.
- Makes bank deposits for all county revenues as needed.
Performs other related duties as required.

RequiredEducation and Experience
Possession of a high school diploma or an appropriate equivalent;
Plus Two years of successful experience as a playground leader, recreation leader, recreation specialist, teacher, or worker in a closely allied field.
Two years of successful work experience at senior centers, with adult education, adult recreation, counseling, social work, community development, or a closely related field.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
- Familiarity with, and can enforce, the Senior Center and Community Services Division Standard Operating Procedures and the Baltimore County policies and procedures.
- Experience working with computers, including the Microsoft Office suite and Outlook.
- Experience with My Senior Center , Well Sky and Survey Monkey is an asset.
- Good knowledge of the needs of older adults and the means to meet those needs.
- Good knowledge of the objectives and purposes of activities, programs, and services for older adults.
- Good customer service skills and ability to work effectively with older adults, volunteers, and the community in general.
- Ability to keep charts and records of average complexity.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
This position may require possession of a valid driver's license equivalent to a noncommercial Class C Maryland driver's license at the time of appointment.
This position may require maintaining CPR/AED/First Aid and Serv Safe certifications, which must be maintained throughout employment.
