Print Operator - Custom Pre-press
The Printing operator receives, prints and sorts incoming electronic standard and custom orders. Should have prior experience working with computers to manipulate and organize electronic files. Prior experience with graphic arts programs preferred. Prior experience operating a MAC computer preferred, specifically Freehand and Illustrator programs.
LOCATION: Townsend, MA 01469
POSITION: Contract
PAY RATE: $23.00 hour
Functions- Receives, prints and sorts incoming electronic standard and custom orders.
- Locates and pulls archived proof sheets and matches to incoming orders.
- Locates electronic order files and aligns to appropriate art templates, making minor adjustments as needed.
- Outputs electronic file to appropriate plate making equipment.
- Groups orders by stock, ink, color and quantity to ensure maximum printing efficiency and delivers to press-line.
- Prints proof of electronic file and files for future orders.
- Replenishes chemicals, plate material as needed.
- Troubleshoots plate making equipment, escalating complex issues as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- HS Diploma or GED
- Experience:
Prior experience working with computers to manipulate and organize electronic files; prior experience with graphic arts programs preferred. Prior experience operating a MAC computer preferred, specifically Freehand and Illustrator programs. - Skills:
Must have intermediate to advanced computer skills; strong organizational skills; excellent oral and written communication skills. - Abilities:
Ability to perform work with a high level of accuracy; detail oriented; ability to handle multiple priorities; ability to work effectively in a diverse, team environment.
