Respiratory Therapist

We are looking for an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist who will be a part of an inter-disciplinary professional team delivering exceptional assessment and treatment for patients with chronic and acute cardiopulmonary illness.

Summary

This position assumes responsibility for caring for and completing tasks that contribute to high quality, safety and effective care. This position will execute protocols, administer respiratory therapies, and educate patients and families about conditions and treatments.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Evaluates and assesses patient’s respiratory needs to make recommendations.
  • Delivers and assesses patient response to ordered therapy.
  • Monitors, records and communicates patient’s condition and response to stimuli.
  • Provides patient education for disease, medications and treatment.
  • Providing therapeutic, diagnostic and respiratory services.
  • Ensuring the efficient delivery of respiratory services.
  • Continually evaluating the effectiveness of therapies given to patients.
  • Knowledge and experience with ventilation (invasive and noninvasive), airway management and spirometry, endotracheal intubation/ extubating, oxygen assessment, required.
Qualifications
  • RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist and RCP - Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner required.
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support
  • Evidence of sound organizational, problem solving and prioritization skills with ability to work well in a skilled nursing environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as an effective team member.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to excellent customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues, management, and other members of the community and public.
