Role Overview:

As a Finance Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Financial Controller and Head of Commercial Strategy by providing robust financial analysis, commercial insight, and strategic guidance. You will be a key interface between finance and business operations, supporting decision‑making to drive profitable growth and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables:

• Business Partnering
• Act as an advisor to business units, collaborating with department heads to understand performance, risks, and opportunities.
• Translate financial data into actionable insight for non‑financial stakeholders.
• Support budgeting at project level, forecasting, and long‑term planning processes.
• Prepare and review management accounts, variance analysis, and monthly reporting packs.
• Provide input to financial modelling and scenario analysis to support commercial proposals, new ventures, and investment appraisals.
• Partner with the Head of Commercial Strategy at the initiation and evaluation stage of new projects, helping to develop pricing, cost optimisation, and revenue growth initiatives.
• Oversee financial aspects of key projects for Lola, ensuring accurate tracking of costs, benefits, and returns.
• Deliver post‑implementation reviews and improvement recommendations.
• Assist with group financial policies, controls, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with internal and external audits as required.
• Stakeholder Management & Reporting
• Communicate financial performance and strategic recommendations to senior management and external partners.
• Prepare board papers and presentations as needed.

Experience

Required:

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a minimum of 3‑5 years of post‑qualification experience.
• Previous experience as a Finance Business Partner or in a similar commercial finance role, preferably within the automotive, motor sport, engineering, or technology sectors.
• Proven track record in financial planning, analysis, and business partnering, supporting both operational and commercial functions.
• Experience with project accounting, investment appraisal, and financial modelling.

Skills and Qualities:

• Strong analytical and commercial acumen with the ability to interpret complex data and provide clear recommendations.
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills; experience with ERP systems preferred. Power BI and Microsoft Dynamics Business Central and CRM experience would be advantageous.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Proactive, self‑driven, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
• Strong organisational and project management skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within cross‑functional teams.
