The Plant Fitter role is primarily workshop based, supporting a busy internal fleet. This Plant Fitter position suits someone who prefers structured workshop work but is happy to attend occasional site breakdowns. The Plant Fitter will maintain and repair construction machinery used on civils and infrastructure projects. As a Plant Fitter you will work closely with plant and transport teams to keep equipment operational.
This Plant Fitter opportunity offers stable, long term employment within a growing contractor. The Plant Fitter will also be provided with a fully equipped van for site response when required.

About the Role- Maintain and repair construction plant in the workshop
- Diagnose mechanical and hydraulic faults
- Carry out servicing, inspections, and adjustments
- Prepare machines for site deployment
- Attend breakdowns on site when required
- Complete repair records and maintenance logs
- Work on excavators, dumpers, rollers, and small plant
- Liaise with plant and transport teams
- Ensure machinery is safe and compliant
- Maintain tools and workshop standards
- Assist with fleet inspections and planning
- Follow health and safety procedures
Candidates from plant fitting, heavy equipment, agricultural machinery, or similar mechanical backgrounds will be well suited.
