Sales Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated Sales Engineer to join a scientific instrument company based in Southampton. This is a full-time, permanent position offering the opportunity for international travel, estimated at up to 25%. The role involves promoting and selling advanced analytical instrumentation within a specialised scientific field. You will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, demonstrating the technical benefits of market-leading products, and providing expert support throughout the sales process.

As part of a well-established yet small organisation, you will play a vital role in expanding the company’s reach within a technical niche, ensuring clients receive tailored solutions and exceptional service.

Proven experience in sales within the scientific sector, particularly with physics or chemistry expertise

Appreciation and understanding of analytical instrumentation and ideally the technical sales process

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with clients at various levels

Ability to discuss complex technical concepts clearly and confidently

Willingness and ability to travel internationally

Self-motivated with a proactive approach to identifying new opportunities

Degree or equivalent in Physics, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline
