Junior Mechanical Estimator Southampton Area £35,000 £ 45,000  Training  Career Progression This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Junior Mechanical Estimator to join a respected M&E Building Services contractor delivering projects from £100k to £5m. The business delivers mechanical and electrical building services projects across commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, leisure, and public and private sector environments. Pre-construction is a key function within the organisation, and they are now looking to invest in the next generation of estimating talent through structured training and long-term development.

The Opportunity This role is designed to support the Pre-Construction Director and estimating team, with a clear development pathway into a fully-fledged Mechanical Estimator over time. The position would suit either: A Junior Mechanical Estimator with 12 years experience An Assistant Estimator seeking greater responsibility Or a mechanically qualified engineer currently working on the tools who is looking to transition into an office-based estimating role Full training and mentorship will be provided.

Key Responsibilities Assisting in the preparation of mechanical building services tenders Supporting take-offs from drawings and specifications Pricing HVAC, heating, ventilation, pipework, plantroom, and public health systems Liaising with suppliers to obtain quotations Supporting cost planning and tender submissions Assisting with project handover documentation As experience develops, you will progressively take on greater responsibility for pricing and managing your own tenders.

About You Mechanical Building Services background Basic understanding of HVAC, pipework, and mechanical systems Strong numeracy and attention to detail Ambitious and motivated to build a long-term career in estimating Comfortable working in an office-based role Experience using estimating software such as Ensign is advantageous but not essential Remuneration Package Junior Mechanical Estima tor £35,000 £ 45,000 Company Pension 25 days holiday  Bank Holidays Structured Training and Career Development Long-Term Progression into Mechanical Estimator This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking structured development within a well-run M&E contractor that is committed to nurturing internal talent.
