Overview

Join Our Team as a Business Manager at ROC College. Are you experienced, organised, and passionate about leading business and operational services in an educational setting? Would you like a role where you can play a key strategic part in supporting a college's leadership team, ensuring compliance, and enabling students to thrive? United Response is looking for a skilled and motivated Business Manager to join ROC College, leading the college's financial, administrative, and business services.

RESPONSIBLE FOR: Leading business, finance, administrative, HR, premises, and IT teams to support the college's educational objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the college's financial planning, budgeting, and reporting processes
  • Oversee SEN funding applications, monitoring, and compliance
  • Ensure statutory and regulatory compliance across finance, HR, premises, and IT
  • Manage SCR and ILR returns, maintaining accuracy and confidentiality
  • Lead administrative and support teams to deliver high-quality services
  • Support the Head Teacher and governors with strategic planning, risk management, and policy development
  • Liaise with external stakeholders, including local authorities, funding bodies, and contractors
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and effective learning environment for all students

Qualifications
  • Relevant business, finance, or management qualifications (e.g. CSBM, DSBM, AAT, or equivalent)
  • Proven experience managing budgets, financial processes, and compliance requirements
  • Knowledge of SEN funding, statutory guidance, and regulatory compliance
  • Experience preparing SCR and ILR returns and supporting SEN education outcomes
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with staff, students, families, and external partners
  • Knowledge of safeguarding requirements and a commitment to providing a safe learning environment
