Responsibilities
The Quality Performance Improvement Coordinator performs systematic and objective performance improvement activities for both clinical and non-clinical areas Responsibilities include but, are not limited to the following:
- Assists in performance improvement activities to monitor the quality of care to meet regulatory standards (e.g., DPH, TJC and CMS)
- Provides data abstraction from hospital applications and inputs into internal and external databases to support publicly reported measures and other performance improvement activities. Coordinates medical record audits for the state, federal, and/or managed care review
- Interprets regulatory specifications of Core Measures and accurately oversees CMS validation requirements
- Generates analytical reports with statistical quality control tools for specialized and generic performance improvement activities
- Coordinates ongoing screening, collection, and analysis of information
- Identifies problems that have an impact on patient care and the clinical performance of members of the hospital staff
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- One to three years of experience in the medical record or equivalent medical terminology knowledge
- Knowledge of quality improvement methods, tools and techniques strongly preferred
