The pay for this position ranges from $71,500 - $80,000.

Overview

The Scheduler/Planner provides planning and parts support for all activities related to commissioning, operation and maintenance (preventive and corrective) of our global fleet of fuel cell power plants.

Responsibilities
  • Prepares maintenance schedules for field service technician team.
  • Organizes and handles a variety of logistics issues in a service environment such as vetting contractors, request for quotes, parts shipments and initiating purchase orders.
  • Specific duties involve but are not limited to ordering parts for maintenance activities, supply chain services, inventory control, critical parts availability, material handling, shipment of products, and third-party warehousing.
  • Provides data analysis for production planning and volume studies; and participates in process/rating improvement efforts.
  • Assists in developing maintenance and logistics plans and procedures.
  • Manages and creates power plant outage work packages. Schedules meetings of all departments performing or impacted by scheduled work. Tracks relevant work orders from beginning to end.
  • Works directly with field service and customer service managers to ensure maximum power plant availability and performance and customer requirements are met.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education: BS degree preferred or equivalent practical experience.

Experience: Minimum 6 years of industrial experience with a minimum of 3 years of Hands‑on experience with maintenance of industrial equipment. Experience with DOT Hazmat shipments a plus.

Special Skills
  • Must be experienced with Computerized Maintenance Management, Enterprise Resource Planning and/or Project Portfolio Management Systems such as MS Dynamics AX, MS Project, and/or other similar maintenance planning tools.
  • Basic to Intermediate MS Excel skills.
  • Experience planning and performing maintenance and ordering parts in an industrial, manufacturing and/or military environment.
  • Must be quick to grasp system interrelationships using mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation inputs.
  • Must have a working knowledge of basic print reading, including P&IDs, wiring loop diagrams, and one-line drawings.
  • Must have a working knowledge of most hand tools and test equipment (process meter and thermocouple reader).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with strong people orientation and relationship building skills.
  • Self‑starter who is a team player and can work independently.
Physical Requirements /Working Conditions
  • Must be able to work mostly in an office environment wearing business casual attire.
  • Must have a clean driving record and a valid driver’s license through the duration of employment.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally. (1 - 2 international trips per year for 1 - 2 weeks in duration, as required)
  • Must have or be able to successfully obtain and maintain a current US passport.
  • Must have or be able to successfully obtain and maintain an international driver’s permit.
  • Must be able and willing to travel throughout the Northeast (CT, NY, NJ, etc.) in support of scheduler/planner duties at FCE fuel cell power plant sites.
