Your role will involve communicating with customers, freight forwarders, and other departments to obtain necessary information to coordinate ISF and Customs Clearance and deliver shipments. You will manage a file from the start of the shipment to completion of all agreed services, with a focus on keeping all parties informed throughout the process.

• Preparation of customs entries and follow-up with the clearance process on all entries, forwarding freight to designated locations; interface with international and domestic carriers, overseas offices, and importers.
• Communicate and offer solutions to documentation discrepancies to clients and managers.
• Verify and coordinate freight delivery to designated locations.
• Resolve finance and accounting reconciliation issues, including providing backup for old bills.
• Administrative responsibilities include preparation of reports and analyses using various software packages and databases.
• Document review and assessment of accuracy, verifying country of origin/export, IOR, terms of sale, and value to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
• Daily follow-up on documentation discrepancy issues, with the ability to troubleshoot and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with customers and foreign origins.
• Establish and maintain client relationships.
• Update notes and milestones in the system for each file.
• Understand the southern border customs clearance process for trucks.

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years  experience in Customs Clearance and Customer service
• Working knowledge of Cargo Wise
• Knowledge of domestic and international geography including countries, major cities and ocean ports along with basic knowledge of U.S. regulatory laws
• Basic knowledge of INCO terms, the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, customs regulations and other government agency requirements

Base wage is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401k retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles.

Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. Kuehne+Nagel reviews pay ranges regularly to ensure competitive and fair pay based on industry market data.
