R&D Specialist is responsible for supporting the R&D sustainment team to develop new separation science products methods and techniques, execute experimental part of a research project, and summarize and report data. It will also be responsible for providing analytical support, keeping instruments calibrated and in excellent working condition and performing simple maintenance tasks. This position reports to the R&D Manager – Column Packing and is part of the R&D department located in Torrance, CA, and will be an on-site role.
Responsibilities- Executes sets of experiments according to existing protocols designed by supervisor and/or project lead to provide synthetic support to develop technologies involving surface modification of silica and polymer particles, as well as scale up efforts from small laboratory scale to pilot- and full manufacturing-scale
- Operates, troubleshoots, and maintains laboratory equipment
- Performs physical and chemical testing of chromatographic sorbents, HPLC columns and sample preparation products with limited supervision
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related STEM field with 2 years industry experience or Associate's Degree in Chemistry or related STEM field with 5 years industry experience or High School with 10 years industry experience
- Experience with operating laboratory tools and instruments such as analytical balance, pipettes, elemental analyzer, HPLC and/or GC. Ensures all work is accurate and free of errors / defects
- Must have knowledge of safety measures when working with hazardous chemicals

The hourly range for this role is $32.93/hr - $43.27/hr this is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting.
