Veterinary Technician Assistant

Overview

Bay Cities Pet Hospital in South Bay is hiring. The right person will be compassionate, resilient, and possess a passion for teamwork with a willingness to learn. A minimum of 2-3 years as a veterinary technician/assistant is required.

• Obtain temperature, pulse and respiratory rates with knowledge of normal ranges and when to alert the doctor.
• Check mucous membranes and understand what the results mean.
• Perform triages with the ability to obtain a basic history from the owner.
• Identify triage levels that are considered immediate.
• Provide nursing care for patients, consistently evaluating the patient.
• Give accurate and detailed patient rounds.
• Knowledge of EKG and how to interpret or assist as appropriate.
• Perform safe patient restraint for physical exams, blood collection, IV catheter placement, abdominal ultrasound, cardiac ultrasound.
• Perform in-house laboratory snap tests including FeLV, FIV, 4
  
  Dx, Cortisol, Parvo.
