Responsibilities
- Provide safe, competent, and compassionate nursing care to laboring and postpartum patients.
- Monitor maternal and fetal status, including interpreting fetal monitoring and vital signs.
- Administer medications, perform interventions, and implement physician orders according to protocols.
- Assist with deliveries, including supporting obstetric procedures when necessary.
- Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, postpartum care, and newborn care.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.
- Float to mother-baby units as needed to support staffing and patient care.
- Mentor and precept new staff or nursing students (preferred).
- Accurately document nursing assessments, interventions, and patient progress.
- Minimum 3 years of nursing experience; first-time Labor & Delivery RNs are welcome.
- Active Registered Nurse license.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
- BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.
- Ability to work PM shift and occasional weekend coverage (per contract length).
- Willingness to float to mother-baby units as required.
- AWHONN Advanced certification.
- Precepting or mentoring experience.
- Strong clinical judgment and patient advocacy skills.
- Ability to provide high-quality care under fast-paced conditions.
Charting / EMR: Required, Epic
Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $70.99 per hour
