Overview
This is a volunteer opportunity provided by Taproot Foundation, a nonprofit creating social change through pro bono connections. A Healthier, Happier Me (AHHM) is a small nonprofit organization with a limited number of transactions and a modest annual budget. We are seeking pro bono assistance from a volunteer with nonprofit accounting or tax experience to help ensure compliance and sound financial practices.
A Healthier, Happier Me Foundation Mission: A Happier, Healthier Me (AHHM) is a not-for-profit organization, 501(c)(3), that focuses on providing health resources and programs to 4–25-year-olds in marginalized communities. Through our interactive, engaging programs, we re transforming the way people think about health by making it accessible, engaging, and enjoyable for all. We believe that every individual deserves to be their best – physically and emotionally.
Responsibilities- Assist with IRS Form 990-N (e-Postcard)
- Assist with California Form 199-N
- Assist with California RRF-1 (Attorney General Registry of Charitable Trusts)
- Provide a high-level review of 2025 financial statements to confirm there are no issues or red flags
- Provide practical recommendations for our bookkeeper to strengthen accuracy, documentation, and processes
- Assist with maintaining detailed financial statements and tax compliance to help preserve our tax-exempt status
- Make requested financial documents/statements accessible to the volunteer for review
- Volunteer with nonprofit accounting or tax experience
- Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate findings clearly
- Ability to work independently with available financial documents and statements
