WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE

The Sanitation Lead supporting Health-Ade’s manufacturing facility in Torrance, CA, is responsible for executing and leading daily sanitation activities in accordance with the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) to ensure a safe, clean, and food‑safe manufacturing environment. This role provides hands‑on leadership on the floor, supports compliance with food safety and quality programs, and serves as the first point of escalation for sanitation‑related issues.

  • Lead and support sanitation team members to ensure all cleaning and sanitation tasks are completed in accordance with the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS)
  • Verify daily, weekly, and periodic sanitation tasks are completed, documented, and signed off per MSS requirements
  • Ensure sanitation activities are performed safely and that all team members use proper PPE and follow chemical safety procedures
  • Assign and prioritize sanitation tasks at the start of each shift to ensure full MSS coverage
  • Execute and support CIP, COP, and external sanitation activities per approved procedures
  • Ensure sanitation records, logs, and documentation are completed accurately and in real time
  • Support microbiological sampling, pre‑op inspections, and sanitation verification activities in partnership with QA
  • Identify sanitation gaps, recurring issues, or MSS deviations and elevate to the Sanitation Supervisor or QA as appropriate
  • Assist with internal and external audits (GMP, SQF, FDA, customer) by providing documentation and operational support
  • Ensure only approved sanitation chemicals and tools are used
  • Support onboarding and training of sanitation employees, including:

    • MSS expectations

    • Chemical safety

    • CIP/COP basics

    • External cleaning standards
  • Manage environmental program
  • Write and update Standard Operating Procedures in accordance with Controlled Documents Policy
  • Provide environmental awareness related to sanitation activities and communicate potential wastewater or discharge concerns to QA or site leadership
  • Maintain regular, reliable attendance and support shift coverage as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on operational needs
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 2–4 years of sanitation experience in a food or beverage manufacturing environment
  • Hands‑on experience with CIP systems and manual sanitation processes
  • Ability to follow and execute sanitation procedures, schedules, and documentation requirements
  • Works effectively in team‑based, production‑driven environments.
ADDITIONAL

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Previous experience acting as a lead, trainer, or senior sanitation technician (formal supervisory experience not required)
  • Strong attention to detail and accountability
  • Ability to lead by example and work alongside sanitation team members
  • Clear verbal communication skills and comfort escalating issues when needed
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to follow schedules and priorities
  • Problem‑solving mindset with a focus on food safety and continuous improvement
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules or alternate shifts as needed
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
