We’re looking for a Production Supervisor, Surfacing & Paint to bring their passion, precision, and leadership skills to our team in Torrance, CA

- Lead a team of painters, paint preppers, finishers, and bodywork technicians in a manner that demonstrates “Everything is Important”.
- This is a dynamic position that requires the ability to manage a production schedule while driving improvements in all areas with a focus on safety, quality, cost, and delivery.

- Set an example with your attitude, attention to detail, listening, mentoring, and communication.
- Ensure all team members are trained on operational procedures and that the team works efficiently and effectively to meet established goals
- Monitor the individual performance and behavior of assigned team members to ensure adherence with Company/departmental policies, processes, and procedures
- Use metrics and make recommendations to managers on ways to drive continuous improvement activities in safety, quality, delivery, and cost
- Serve as a role model and facilitate effective communication throughout the team
- Evaluates the work of assigned staff, provides feedback, and coaches and disciplines employees as needed to be sure that their performance meets job expectations
- Work with the Senior Production Manager to prioritize staffing/resource assignments ensuring capacity for equipment and labor is planned and available to meet demand
- Communicate approved schedules to team members, approves vacation requests (so that production needs are met), and approves timecards in a timely manner to assure that submitted time is accurate
- Accurately report end of day production status for each vehicle build and associated parts
- Ensure that the workplace is clean, uncluttered, safe, and well organized to help reduce waste and optimize productivity (5S activities)
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least 5 years of related work experience in an automotive, composite and/or assembly environment
- Three or more years of leadership experience in fast-paced production environment
- Solid technical background and knowledge of welding and parts fabrication
- Skilled experience reading and interpreting part and assembly drawings, BOMs, etc.
- Experience with making, restoring, and/or creating custom automotive parts
- Basic understanding of Lean Principles, 5S organization principles
- Experience with common MS office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
- Highly motivated with strong work ethic that works well independently
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills and can effectively communicate with other teams and departments
Schedule:
This position is located in Torrance, CA. Upon hire, you’ll work Monday – Friday 5am-1:30pm however we are adding a second shift, so you may be moved to the afternoon/evening shift later in the year.

The starting salary range for this position is between $86,953 - $108,691 plus bonus. Actual compensation will be determined by skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
