Position Overview

Howmet Aerospace Inc. (NYSE: HWM), a leading global provider of advanced engineered solutions for the aerospace and transportation industries, is seeking a Machine Tech I at their Torrance, CA location (On-site). This position enables the creation of high-quality components for aircraft and industrial turbines, contributing to fuel efficiency and lightweight solutions.

  This position entails access to export‑controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.

• Set up and operate various production machines.
• Perform light bench, hand and assembly operations.
• Operate machines to produce parts in conformance with specifications, making minor adjustments as needed.
• Assist in set up and operation of all standard and specialized machines.
• Assist in machine set up per work order and standard set up procedure.
• Learn set up and operation of any new machines added to the department.
• Check parts with standard gauges or precision measuring instruments and submit parts for inspection as required.
• Operate machines and release to, and instruct operators in procedures for, producing parts in conformance with specifications.
• Perform SPC charting as required.
• Keep work area clean, safe, and orderly daily.
• Perform other tasks as required.

• Good communication skills and basic shop math knowledge.
• Ability to read, write and understand English.
• Ability to lift/move up to 30 lbs. (may not exceed per EHS Policies).

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

The position includes competitive wages in the range of $19.00 to $21.00 per hour and a comprehensive benefits package: health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) matching, paid holidays and vacation.
