RESPONSIBILITIES:The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing technical maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting malfunctions, following diagrams, sketches, equipment manuals, and manufacturing instructions and installations. Maintenance Technician is responsible for following all food safety, quality practices, and all work safety guidelines.
- Adhere to all safety standards set by Health-Ade and OSHA
- Resolve day-to-day technical problems on the production lines. Inspect, test, diagnose, repair, and maintain production equipment, machinery, or instruments to ensure that it functions reliably and complies with process specifications.
- Conduct work orders and address issues as they arise at all company locations; identify, find, and check out parts as needed from storeroom; operate forklift, genie boom, and scissor lift as needed to complete work orders
- Complete preventive maintenance work orders as assigned and recommend revisions to improve reliability
- Communicate machine improvement suggestions, equipment requiring maintenance, training opportunities, or operational/safety concerns to the supervisor when appropriate
- Utilize the CMMS to create, manage, and document all work; review the written quality of Maintenance Work Orders to ensure explanations are complete and accurate
- Compile shift information to lead shift “pass down” meetings
- Work with Maintenance Manager, Operations Manager, and Director of Quality & Technical Services to drive Root Cause Failure Analysis
- Ensure that good housekeeping and safe work practices are followed. Perform housekeeping functions while performing assigned work and in the assigned maintenance area to maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Responsible for the organization of tools & parts; order non-stocked parts for the team; arrange for material and equipment to accommodate unforeseen/unscheduled conditions
- Responsible for quality, duration, and thoroughness of all work under jurisdiction
- Other duties/projects as assigned by the manager
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2 years of experience in Food, Beverage, or other consumer packaged goods
- Mechanical/Electrical experience maintaining production equipment in a continuous production environment
- Ability to read and understand standard operating procedures, operation manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and/or engineering specifications
- Know, understand and be compliant with Confined Space Entry procedure, NFPA 70E, and Lockout procedure is essential
- Willing to be flexible and work a different shift if needed to support the business
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with Krones bottling lines
- Experience with KHS Can Fillers and Seamers
- Experience with packaging/high-speed production (e.g., bottling, consumer products, etc.).
- Experience with basic electrical systems (e.g., starters, fuses, contacts, relays).
- Experience with compressors/ammonia systems (e.g., refrigeration systems).
- Experience with conveyors (air cylinders, diverters, sensors, motor/speed controls).
