Maintenance Mechanic - Food Manufacturing

Purpose Statement

The Maintenance Mechanic ensures that all equipment in the plant runs smoothly by performing repairs and regular maintenance on various types of machinery.

• Identifies and resolves any maintenance issues that arise.
• Uses equipment schematics and manuals to tune machines for optimal performance, applying basic electrical and mechanical principles to fix problems.
• Applies general knowledge of plumbing, metalworking, and building maintenance when needed.
• Works with various measuring instruments and devices to monitor equipment performance.
• Provides training to new team members on necessary maintenance skills.
• Keeps the work area clean and organized, following safety and quality guidelines.
• Operates the control system for monitoring equipment and completes necessary paperwork.
• Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Team Leader.
• Assists and trains team members on basic troubleshooting techniques and supports production activities as necessary.

• Must have 3-5 years of experience in food processing, particularly in troubleshooting and repairing production equipment with advanced control systems.
• Good communication skills are essential, both in writing and speaking.
• Ability to train other team members in maintenance tasks.
• Willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Familiarity with control systems for monitoring equipment.
• Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Knowledge of plumbing, metalworking, and general maintenance for facilities.
• Awareness of and compliance with safety guidelines.
• Understanding of quality and food safety practices.
• Knowledge of proper operating and adjustment procedures for machinery.
• Ability to contribute to teams focused on improving production and supporting team involvement.
