QA TECHNICIAN II - B SHIFT at LISI AEROSPACE NORTH AMERICA
OverviewQuality Technician II plays a critical role in ensuring that our products, services, and operations meet the established customer standards. This position involves conducting thorough examinations, detailed inspections, and various tests to assess compliance with internal and external regulations and standards. Having a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of quality and safety.
EssentialDuties And Responsibilities
- Inspection Tasks:
Inspects semi-finished components including bolt blank stock, washers, internally and externally threaded fasteners, and raw material for conformance to customer specifications and production/manufacturing drawings; inspects precision machined components and sub-assemblies for conformance to mechanical standards, specifications and tolerances; performs final inspection of close tolerance fasteners; maintains inspection reports and records inspection data; uses precision measuring equipment and performs detailed dimensional inspections;
coordinates inspection activities with team leads; reads blueprints; determines methods of inspection; verifies gauges and measuring instruments; reviews calibration certifications; develops First Article inspection documents and inspection reports; reviews final inspection documentation and aids compliance team; handles paperwork scanning, filing, data entry, and product certification as needed. - Lab Technician Tasks:
Performs physical and metallurgical tests on in-process and final parts; conducts metallurgical mount preparation; prepares in-process tests; reads drawings and specifications for correct test requirements; conducts mechanical testing (tensile, shear, fatigue, etc.) to ensure conformance; verifies calibration on test equipment; handles raw material verification and material movement; supports shipping and receiving with stocking and weight/piece count accuracy; enters work order information in the Shop Floor System;
reviews lab test results; supports Preliminary Material Review Team (PMRT); conducts lab sampling as needed. - Gage Room (Metrology) Tasks:
Manage calibration and gage control activities, including Gage Trak system usage, maintaining environmental controls, arranging calibration (internal and external), and reporting calibration due dates; review certifications; support engineering projects as a gage expert; calculate measurement uncertainty where required. - Safety/Compliance:
Adhere to all HSE policies; comply with government, company, and HSE procedures; participate in training; report nonconformances; drive continuous improvement in HSE performance; implement waste reduction initiatives. - Ways Of Working, Experience, And Behaviors:
Demonstrate analytical thinking, technical QA and manufacturing knowledge, effective communication, teamwork, business acumen, adaptability, planning, organization, and professionalism.
Job Requirements
- Education and/or
Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent; minimum 3-5 years of metallurgical or physical laboratory experience; understanding of test equipment and lab procedures; or a combination of inspection and lab procedures; college-level mathematics, metallographic, or mechanical engineering a plus. - Computer Skills:
Basic familiarity with mainframe systems, spreadsheets, word processing, and database systems. - Mathematical Skills:
Ability to perform basic arithmetic with units, weight, volume, and distance. - Reasoning Ability:
Ability to handle problems with a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical demands include standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods; manual dexterity; lifting up to 30 pounds; vision and hearing requirements as specified. Work environment is generally moderate to loud with required PPE as appropriate. Compliance with safety, environmental, and hazardous materials regulations is required. Monday to Thursday, 3:00 pm – 1:30 am - Shift Differential: $1.10/hr
