Job Description
We are seeking a Staffing Consultant to join our team! While bilingual skills in English and Japanese are preferred, familiarity with Japanese business culture is required. Industry experience is not necessary — training is provided, and entry-level candidates are welcome.
Title: Staffing Consultant
Position Type: Direct Hire
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Location: Torrance, CA 90501 (Hybrid after training)
Work Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:30 PM
Salary: $20–$22/hr

- Develop new client relationships through cold-calling, networking, attending industry events, and following up on referrals.
- Consult with clients to understand hiring needs and present qualified candidates for open positions.
- Manage the full recruitment cycle, including:
- Drafting job descriptions
- Sourcing candidates
- Reviewing resumes
- Conducting initial interviews
- Facilitating selection and testing
- Salary negotiation
- Reference and background checks
- Extending offers and supporting onboarding
- Utilize a variety of sourcing methods to attract strong candidates, including referral networks.
- Present candidates who positively contribute to client performance and company culture.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, candidates, and internal staff.
- Maintain and update applicant database with accurate notes and documentation.
- Prepare paperwork for both temporary and direct-hire placements.
- Handle administrative duties such as answering calls, filing, and data entry.
- Perform other related tasks as needed.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Familiarity with Japanese business culture; bilingual English/Japanese is a plus
- Strong interest in the staffing industry and willingness to learn—no prior industry experience required
- Excellent communication skills
- Proactive work style and ability to take initiative
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- High attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks
- Basic computer proficiency
