Hourly Rate: $23+/hour (DOE)

Working Hours: 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week (Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM, 1-hour unpaid lunch break)

Status:
Non-exempt, Full-time

Position Summary

A Japanese retail company in Torrance, CA is seeking a Japanese-English bilingual HR & General Administration Office Clerk to support daily human resources and office administrative operations. This role supports the HR/GA team by handling routine HR tasks, ensuring compliance, and assisting with general office administration to maintain smooth day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

Human Resources (Approx. 60%)

  • Support daily HR administrative tasks and operations
  • Maintain employee records and HR databases
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and employee support
  • Support payroll and benefits-related administrative work
  • Respond to employee inquiries and act as an HR liaison
  • Assist with HR policies, procedures, and compliance matters

General Administration (Approx. 40%)

  • Order and manage office and store supplies
  • Support lease contracts and administrative documentation
  • Coordinate with on-site managers for facility maintenance and repairs
  • Manage office phone lines and company mobile phones
  • Perform general office administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in HR, General Administration, or a related field
  • Japanese:
    Expert level;
    English:
    Business level
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Effective communication skills in a team-based environment
