ResponsibilitiesThe Guest Service Associate is responsible for providing exceptional hospitality services to guests in an attentive, friendly and efficient manner. The Guest Service Associate is also responsible for parking and retrieving guest vehicles in a prompt yet safe manner and assisting guests with luggage (including delivery and pick up of guest luggage where applicable) during arrival and departure.
- Maintain a pleasant, friendly and professional demeanor with all guests, co-workers, and clients; acknowledge and greet guests within five feet with a professional demeanor; use guest last names during interactions.
- Greet guests, practice proper Towne Park phone etiquette, and assist guests when not completing tasks; stay positioned in designated areas as needed.
- Park and retrieve vehicles with safety and caution; assist guests with bell services and luggage storage as needed; open vehicle and hotel doors for guests.
- Assist guests with directions, taxis, reservations and other inquiries; provide information about facility amenities and local attractions; deliver messages, items and guest amenities as requested; shuttle guests to approved locations.
- Explain parking rates and retrieval procedures; issue claim checks after receiving keys and collect claim checks from guests prior to issuing keys; maintain ticket information (key tag, guest folio, vehicle location, damage survey, claim check receipt) in the valet system; ensure location is updated on key tags; calculate and collect revenue when needed.
Education:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Required Licensure, Certification, Etc.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license for the state you are applying to work in, or reside within a commutable distance from that state (as applicable)
Work Experience
- One (1) month related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
Skills
- Ability to read and write standard English language
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests, clients and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add and subtract three-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s; ability to perform these operations using units of American money
- Ability to understand 24 hour and military time systems
- Ability to understand rates applicable to time passed
- Ability to operate a manual transmission is highly desirable
- Perform parallel parking
Authority To Act
- Job is fairly routine. Incumbent follows established practices and procedures. Duties are performed with specific directions given and work is checked or verified on a frequent basis. Decisions are made within specific operational instructions and departmental guidelines. Errors in judgment could affect the smooth and efficient operation of the department.
Budget Responsibility
- The employee has control over resources available only.

Lifting Requirements
- Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Travel
- Travel of up to 5% may be required.
