Lead Surgical Technician

Overview

Lead Surgical Technician at Providence Little Company of Mary Torrance Hospital in Torrance, CA. This is a full-time position that will work 8-hour day shifts.

The Coordinator, Perioperative Specialty role is a Surgical Technician role who is a non-licensed health care employee performing the surgical scrub role and who works under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). These duties may include reviewing preference lists and picking the supplies and instruments for a procedure; performing a surgical scrub and preparing the back table with the appropriate sterile instrumentation and supplies;

providing support intra-operatively by anticipating the surgeon s needs and passing him/her the appropriate instrumentation and supplies when needed during the case; completing the cycle by taking instruments and equipment to the decontamination area at the end of the procedure and putting away left over supplies and equipment.

• Review preference lists and select supplies and instruments for procedures.
• Perform a surgical scrub and prepare the back table with sterile instrumentation and supplies.
• Provide intra-operative support by anticipating the surgeon s needs and passing instrumentation and supplies during the case.
• Complete the procedure cycle by transporting instruments and equipment to the decontamination area and returning leftover supplies and equipment to storage.

• Required:
  
  Successfully completed training as a surgical technician at an accredited school.
• Upon hire:
  National Certified Surgical Technologist - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting
• Upon hire:
  National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
• 3 years experience as a Surgical Technician in Operating Room.

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate s placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
