Staff RN - Cardiac Rehab - Per Diem

Responsibilities

• Confirm order for cardiac teaching; provide appropriate cardiac teaching materials and assist with ambulating as needed.
• Complete documentation of cardiac rehabilitation orientation for each patient and document each session.
• Document patient information in appropriate clinical format in Cardiac Rehab and complete in a timely manner (e.g., Medicare reports, patient charts).
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and provide appropriate intervention.
• Maintain certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and mandatory education (fire/electrical safety, infection control, etc.).
• Provide patient/family education to support understanding of CAD and recovery, reducing risk factors.
• Provide all services of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program to adult patients.
• Work with MD to coordinate Cardiac Rehab, Physical Therapy, Dietary and/or Respiratory Therapy as needed.
• Lead, monitor, and supervise a wide range of individual, group, and therapeutic exercise sessions appropriate to patients representing the full range of risk strata.
• For Phase II patient care: conduct initial interviews and organize/monitor exercise therapy.
• Provide education and materials on nutrition, exercise, stress, blood pressure, and other areas of self‑care.
• Participate in emergency management/disaster planning safety exercises to ensure appropriate care for our pediatric population during a disaster.
• Refer patients to diabetic educator, dietitian, respiratory therapist, and other support groups as needed.
