American Honda Finance Corporation is currently seeking a Regulatory Analyst for our Compliance division. The Regulatory Analyst is responsible for evaluation of the highest risk federal and state laws with focus on credit bureau reporting (FCRA), lending to military members in Service members Civil Relief Act (SCRA), Collection practices (FDCPA) and preventing lending relationships with terrorists and drug traffickers under OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control).
The Regulatory Analyst will analyze law and implement policies from legal and regulatory entities with focus on the US Department of Justice, and the Federal Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).
- Analysis of significant federal and state consumer finance laws including credit reporting (FCRA), military members (SCRA), prevention of business relationships… identifying and eliminating potential risk issues including those related to all state and federal laws.
- Developing business process analysis and policies and procedures
- Actively monitor, analyze, research, investigate, communicate, and remediate concerning the appropriate prioritization of AHFC compliance risk
- Support in Federal and State Audits, tracking
- Special assignments identifying, analyzing, and resolving Unfair, Deceptive, or Abusive Acts or Practices (UDAAP) issues. Support in Federal and State Audits

Minimum Education Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in business, Management, or related field
- Minimum five (5) years finance industry experience, regulatory, legal, or compliance experience
- Project planning and project management experience
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Strong legal research and legal analytical skills
- Strong collaboration skills
- Experience working with legal counsel
- Proficient in MS Windows (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
- Proficient in specialized data mining skills including the ability to use data analysis tools
Work Style - 80/20 (4 days in office 1 day remote) Torrance Location
Travel 5%
