Tax Manager

Tax Manager ation:
Torrance, CA. Pelican engineers high-performance protective solutions for military personnel, first responders, outdoor adventurers, and other innovators. We operate globally with multiple offices and facilities, and our work has a real-world impact.

• Tax Compliance & Reporting:
  Manage preparation and review of federal, state, and local income and franchise tax returns, oversee indirect tax filings (sales/use and property taxes), ensure timely estimates, extensions, and filings with tax authorities, and monitor tax law changes and their business impact.
• International Tax:
  Oversee international tax filings across global jurisdictions, manage transfer pricing calculations for intercompany transactions, coordinate transfer pricing studies, and maintain supporting documentation.
• Provision & Financial Reporting:
  Prepare and review income tax provisions under ASC 740, support quarterly and annual financial reporting and disclosures, and partner with Accounting and Finance to ensure accurate tax reporting.
• Tax Planning & Strategy:
  Support tax planning initiatives, analyze transactions and business initiatives for tax implications, assist with audit defense, and manage tax audits and inquiries.
• Leadership &
  
  Collaboration:
  
  Supervise and mentor a Senior Tax Accountant, coordinate work with external tax advisors, and partner cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, Payroll, and Operations.
• Process Improvement:
  Improve tax processes, documentation, internal controls, and support automation and efficiency initiatives within the tax function, maintaining strong documentation to support compliance and tax positions.
• Additional duties as assigned.

• Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state taxation (international tax experience a plus)
• Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact with senior leadership
• Advanced Microsoft Excel experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across U.S. geographic markets. Base pay is within a range and can progress as you grow in the role. The annual U.S. pay range will be shared during the hiring process.
