S2 Global, an OSI Systems Company is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to work in its Torrance, CA location.
S2 Global is the leading provider of turnkey, state‑of‑the‑art screening solutions for inspection and security. The solution is based on three core elements of concept of operations, training and software. This software is key to the solution and is highly unique to the industry.
We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and support deployments of our Cert Scan platform. You will be part of a systems engineering team that is responsible for designing and developing scalable, maintainable, highly available network architectures that meet business objectives and SLAs. The role includes designing, installing, monitoring, maintaining, supporting and optimizing all network hardware, software and communication links.
The Engineer will analyze and resolve network problems in a timely and accurate fashion.
- Design and deploy region LANs, WANs, and wireless networks, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless APs and other hardware.
- Work closely with the customer’s IT team to meet and exceed compliance and design standards.
- Create and maintain documentation related to network configuration, mapping, processes, and service records.
- Continually assess current state of the network against industry best practices and provide recommendations to improve throughput and reduce failure through the use of redundancy and process.
- Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures, and processes for network administration, utilization and disaster recovery to include continual improvement.
- Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsource rs, and contractors to procure network products and services.
- Work individually or with a team on new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues and make the necessary decisions required to repair as needed.
- Ensure network connectivity of all servers, workstations, telephony equipment, firewalls, and other network appliances.
- Configure networks to ensure reliable operation and availability for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
- Maintain network hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, VPN concentrators and associated software and peripheral devices.
- Use a CMDB for network asset management, maintaining an inventory and related documentation.
- Monitor and periodically test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.
- Participate in managing all network security solutions.
- Perform network and security audits ensuring all systems are backed‑up and recovery procedures are available.
- Up to 50% travel may be required.

- Report quality problems or defects to management to enable corrective action and prevent recurrence.
- Duty may be modified or assigned to meet business needs.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from a four‑year college or university; or certifications plus related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in networking and network security including VPNs, enterprise routing and L3‑7 switching.
- 5+ years in enterprise network design and implementation.
- 5+ years in firewall/switch technologies.
- 5+ years in MPLS or VPLS network design.
- 5+ years in QoS design and implementation.
- 5+ years in EIGRP, BGP and OSPF.
- Preferred Certifications – ITIL Foundations v3, CCNA, CCDA, CCDP, CCNP.
- Cisco, Fortinet or other industry‑standard network certifications.
- Cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, Security+ are highly considered.
Skills and Abilities
- Proven ability to make independent decisions and implement solutions.
- Proven experience with LAN, WAN, WLAN, and WWAN design and implementation.
- Experience with network capacity planning, security principles and general best practices.
