The Accountant is critical in managing and analyzing the company’s financial data to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This position involves preparing financial statements, managing general ledger activities, and supporting budgeting and forecasting processes. The accountant ensures that all financial transactions comply with local, state, and federal regulations while identifying areas for cost control and process improvements.
Duties & Responsibilities- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements) in compliance with GAAP.
- Ensure the timely and accurate reporting of financial results to management and stakeholders.
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger by accurately verifying, recording, and categorizing transactions.
- Monitor journal entries, accruals, and adjustments to ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Manage AP and AR invoicing, payment processing, and collections processes.
- Ensure all entries are recorded accurately in the accounting system and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up with customers to maintain healthy cash flow.
- Assist with developing budgets and financial forecasts to guide operational and financial planning.
- Track and analyze variances between actual results and budgeted amounts to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns on time, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Stay informed of tax law changes that could impact the organization and adjust processes as needed.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries.
- Address any audit findings promptly and implement corrective actions to ensure compliance.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and new technologies to improve financial operations.
- Ensures compliance with applicable accounting laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 5+ years in accounting
- Experience in high-volume operations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Exemplary organizational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax regulations, and compliance standards
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Quick Books) and advanced Excel skill
