Research Administrator

Overview

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Research Administrator focusing on Clinical Trial data in the Research and Development Department based in the Horizon Centre at Torbay Hospital. The Research Team is looking for someone who is highly motivated and passionate about clinical research. You will work with a variety of research professionals including the Clinical Research Delivery Teams and the Research and Development Department in a friendly, supportive team environment and will help manage the data and admin associated with our clinical trials.

Our research portfolio has steadily grown over the last year so this would be an exciting time to join and help facilitate further growth as we take on more varied trials across more disease sites.

• Input clinical trial data and liaise with the clinical trials team to ensure data is current and accurate.
• Work across a number of computer systems and problem‑solve trial data management.
• Communicate between consultants, nurses, clinical teams, trial admin, support departments, trial sponsors and patients to ensure trial patient data is accurate and uploaded in a timely manner.
• Recruit participants for commercial and non‑commercial clinical trials, supporting research across clinical specialties and departments.
• Set up studies, obtain informed consent, manage trial treatments and interventions, and oversee study follow‑up.
• Use clinical database systems to ensure high‑quality clinical data collection.
• Support the safe conduct of research in accordance with the Research Governance Framework and Good Clinical Practice guidelines, ensuring the rights, safety and well‑being of trial participants.

• Highly motivated, enthusiastic and able to undertake tasks on your own initiative.
• Excellent organisational, prioritisation, administrative and communication skills.
• Excellent IT and literacy skills with a good eye for detail.
• High degree of flexibility, strong time management, and ability to build effective working relationships.
