We provide health and social care services to our people in their own homes or in their local community. We also run Torbay Hospital (providing acute hospital services) as well as five community hospitals, stretching from Dawlish to Brixham.

We support around 500,000 face-to-face contacts with patients in their homes and communities each year and see over 78,000 people in our A&E department annually. We serve a resident population of approximately 286,000 people, plus about 100,000 visitors at any one time during the summer holiday season.

Main duties of the job

To work on Turner ward and/or Ricky Grant Day Unit as a sister/Charge Nurse within a team responsible for the care of patients admitted as a result oftheir cancer diagnosis or side effects of their treatment and for the administration of Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapies (SACT) in the nurse ledDay Unit setting

To oversee the ward/unit team responsible for the assessment, development,implementation and evaluation of patient care. You will be working closely with other professional colleagues to ensure that consistently high standard sand quality of care for patients are maintained and that the patients needs aremet

To improve practice by continuous professional development. You will gain abroad spectrum of clinical proficiency to deliver SACTTo conform to COSHH and Health and Safety regulations whilst dealing withcytotoxic drugs ensuring a safe working environment

To provide clinical advice, training, education and support to patients,relatives and other professional colleagues

To promote a safe clinical environment for all patients, their carers, visitors and staff and to comply with the Trust and relevant network policies.
