EAU4 at Torbay Hospital are looking for highly motivated, innovative and experienced nurse to join our dynamic team. EAU4 is an emergency admission unit that supports the medical take.
Working on the unit is both exciting and challenging. We work closely with the Emergency Department and Acute Medical Unit, caring for a diverse group of acutely unwell medical patients, with Cardiovascular, Respiratory, Gastroenterology and Chronic health conditions. Staff are also exposed to managing patients with a higher acuity within the unit.

Main duties of the jobYou will work as part of a team on the unit as a Staff Nurse to ensure seamless delivery of service.
Participate in the assessment of care needs of the clients and the development, implementation and evaluation of care, promoting high standards, demonstrating a compassionate nature and promoting patient dignity.
You will participate as a skilled member of the multi-disciplinary team.
Work as part of the Urgent Care team, promoting good interdepartmental relationships.
Act as clinical advisor on nursing issues to ensure high standards of care are maintained, utilising evidence-based practice.
Participate in direct care and facilitate sound discharge planning.

Person Specification- NMC pin
- Acute nursing experience of 1 year
- Proven relevant experience at Band 5
- Evidence of continual professional development
- Urgent Care knowledge and experience
- Post graduate diploma level education or equivalent
- Safe and competent practitioner aware of own limitations and needs
- Experienced in giving IV medications
- IT skills to include data entry, Microsoft word etc
