Main duties of the job
To work on Turner ward and/or Ricky Grant Day Unit as a sister/Charge Nurse within a team responsible for the care of patients admitted as a result of their cancer diagnosis or side effects of their treatment and for the administration of Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapies (SACT) in the nurse led Day Unit setting
To oversee the ward/unit team responsible for the assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of patient care. You will be working closely with other professional colleagues to ensure that consistently high standards and quality of care for patients are maintained and that the patients needs are met
To improve practice by continuous professional development. You will gain a broad spectrum of clinical proficiency to deliver SACT. To conform to COSHH and Health and Safety regulations whilst dealing with cytotoxic drugs ensuring a safe working environment
To provide clinical advice, training, education and support to patients, relatives and other professional colleagues
To promote a safe clinical environment for all patients, their carers, visitors and staff and to comply with the Trust and relevant network policies.

Person Specification Experience- A minimum of 6 months paid experience in an Acute hospital environment within the last 3 years
- Statement of NMC Registration
- Degree /Diploma in Nursing
- Registered Nurse Adult Current registration with NMC
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Interest in Oncology and Haematology
- IV drug administration
