Torbay Hospital is looking for a dedicated and experienced Facilities Helpdesk Manager to join our team. You will be part of a team of 6 managers providing 24/7 service coverage on a rota basis, ensuring the efficient management of our facilities operations helpdesk. Responsible for prioritising and coordinating essential facilities services such as deep cleans, portering, linen room and other operational requests to ensure a safe and efficient environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

You will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe, clean and comfortable environment for patients, staff and visitors, contributing directly to high‑quality healthcare delivery. Working in a healthcare setting allows you to develop valuable skills in facilities management, maintenance, and healthcare compliance. You'll also have the opportunity to gain knowledge specific to the healthcare industry. Hospitals are essential, meaning that the facilities team plays an ongoing role in keeping the operations running smoothly, offering stability and job security.

Job Responsibilities
  • Manage the day‑to‑day operations of the Facilities Helpdesk.
  • Prioritise and coordinate service requests, including deep cleans, portering, and other facilities‑related tasks.
  • Ensure all requests are handled promptly and effectively, adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to facilities staff, ensuring a high standard of service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of service requests and outcomes.
  • Ensure that all tasks are assigned, monitored, and completed within the required timeframe.
  • Work closely with other hospital departments to address any urgent or ongoing facilities issues.
  • Provide 24/7 service cover on a rota basis, ensuring adequate staffing levels at all times.
