We are searching for Band 5
Registered Mental Health or Learning Disability Nurses to join us on Beech Wardbased in Torquay, Torbay Hospital. Beech ward is a 16 bedded inpatient Mental Health Ward that supports primarily older adults with functional mental health difficulties.
We warmly welcome Band 5 Registered Mental Health Nurses who are newly qualified or will be qualified within two months of the interview process (and will be a 'Preceptee' Nurse). The successful candidates will be supported by a team of experienced Band 6's and Ward Manager.
Please note, a UK registration and Nursing PIN are essential for this role.

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to work within adynamic team in a service that has been rated as Outstanding by the CQC.Working alongside the Nursing Team, and within the MDT, you will ensure that service users receive a high standard of person-centred care which enables themto recover in a timely way.
Main duties of the job- To assess care needs, develop,implement and evaluate individual care plans.
- To provide holistic, recovery focused and compassionate care to people who use our services.
- To provide named nurse role topeople who use our service.
- To promote and improve quality ofservice provided.
- To manage the unit in the absenceof Ward Manager / Team Leader
- To participate in the internal rotation system including weekend working
- To be a proactive, skilled memberof the ward Multi-Disciplinary team
- To have knowledge and experience of providing individual and group clinical/therapy work.
- To demonstrate effective leadership and assist with providing advice and guidance to non-qualified staffand students.
- To be responsible for the provision and maintenance of effective therapeutic relationships, which at all times acknowledges the rights, personal dignity and encourages opportunity for growthand development of the person using this service.

Person Specification Experience- Experience of Adult and/or Older Persons mental health nursing and the nursing process
- Excellent verbal and written skills and excellent IT skills.
- Ability to form positive therapeutic relationships with service users, carers and other professional bodies.
- Ability to engage in and lead (when required) MDT meetings
- Ability to assess situations, make decisions, co-ordinate and organise appropriate responses.
- Have an awareness and ability to maintain personal boundaries.
- Able to risk assess
- To be able to plan and implement all aspects of nursing skills.
- To demonstrate effective leadership skills, promote effective role model across the ward environment.
