About the Opportunity

As a Pharmacy Technician with checking capability you’ll lead the pharmacy team to deliver a trusted service to patients. You’ll have many opportunities to develop your career with ongoing CPD and a 6‑week Accuracy Checking Programme if you don’t already hold the qualification.

• Providing expert, tailored advice to patients about available medicines and products.
• Delivering various services depending on the store’s needs.
• Building strong relationships with the pharmacy team; coaching and inspiring them to deliver the highest standard of care.
• Assisting with the triage of patients and distributing prescription hand‑outs.
• Taking ownership for legal, safe and ethical decision‑making in the pharmacy.
• Managing operational tasks including replenishing stock, workload management, order fulfilment, receiving and handling controlled drugs whilst ensuring patient safety.
• Completing the Boots 6‑week Accuracy Checking Programme if you do not already hold a formal qualification from a recognised training provider.

• Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC and willing to complete the 6‑week training course to become qualified to check prescriptions.
• A passion for coaching and leading a dispensary team.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Motivation to improve services for teams, customers and patients.
• Desire to deliver outstanding patient care.
• Ability to use pharmacy systems and technology.

• Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician with checking capability – training will be given if you do not have it.
