In this pivotal leadership position, you will lead, supervise, and develop a dedicated Social Work team, ensuring that children, young people, and families receive high-quality, timely support in line with statutory guidance and local policies. You will be at the forefront of promoting integrated assessment approaches and ensuring strong, effective responses to vulnerable children through close partnership working with other agencies.

Develop and embed an integrated approach to assessment and service provision across Children’s Services.

Prioritise and respond to the most vulnerable children using agreed partnership threshold criteria.

Ensure immediate responses and robust risk assessments are in place for children at risk of harm.

Oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive care plans for Looked After Children, ensuring their safety and emotional wellbeing.

Ensure effective permanency planning and statutory compliance, including oversight of Special Guardianship Support Plans.

Promote continuous professional development within your team to enhance performance and service delivery.

Manage service activities within allocated budgets and contribute to delivering the priorities of the Torbay Safeguarding Children Partnership.
