Compliance Specialist - Bilingual Bilingual (English/French required)

Job Summary

Under moderate supervision, the Onboarding Compliance Specialist ensures that First Student drivers, monitors, technicians, and staff remain compliant with all applicable federal, provincial, and contractual regulations. This role supports onboarding processes, maintains accurate compliance records, and provides training and guidance to location staff to ensure smooth integration and adherence to standards.

Key Responsibilities Compliance Management

Maintain and update compliance data for assigned locations. Review all documents for accuracy before entry into the compliance system and resolve discrepancies in collaboration with location staff.

Training & Support

Train location staff on compliance programs, processes, and document requirements. Provide troubleshooting assistance for compliance platform challenges and elevate issues to the Driver Compliance Supervisor when necessary.

Collaboration & Confidentiality

Promote a safe and positive work environment while maintaining a high level of confidentiality. Communicate effectively and professionally with all stakeholders.

On-Site Support

Assist with on-site compliance activities as assigned and provide hands‑on support during audits or peak periods.

Other Duties

Perform additional responsibilities as required to support compliance and onboarding objectives.

Minimum Requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English and French
    .
  • Minimum 3 years of experience; transportation experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of compliance programs and federal/provincial requirements for commercial drivers.
  • Ability to lead, train, and coach staff on compliance processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.
  • Valid driver’s license.
