Job Summary:

The Ready-Mix Concrete Truck Driver is responsible for safely loading, transporting, and delivering ready-mix concrete to customer job sites throughout the GTA. This role requires strict adherence to safety standards, outstanding customer service, strong work ethic, and the ability to operate and maintain the mixer truck in accordance with company and MTO regulations.

Job Duties
  • Operate a ready-mix concrete truck safely on public roads, construction sites, and plant yards.
  • Conduct required pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections following company and MTO guidelines.
  • Report mechanical issues immediately to ensure timely fleet maintenance.
  • Maintain truck cleanliness, fuel, fluid levels, and general condition.
  • Properly back into the plant, charge the drum, and fill the water tank following loading procedures.
  • Verify load tickets and gather required materials such as calcium, fiber mesh, and any add-ons.
  • Deliver concrete to job sites in a safe, efficient, and timely manner.
  • Accurately maintain, report, and adjust slump as needed.
  • Maneuver chutes, wash out drum, and secure equipment after each delivery and at shift end.
  • Communicate professionally with contractors, inspectors, site supervisors, and dispatch.
  • Obtain required signatures and process COD payments when applicable.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions to ensure each order is loaded and delivered accurately.
  • Represent the company professionally at all job sites.
  • Wear all required PPE and follow company safety procedures.
  • Comply with Ministry of Labour, MTO, and company safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate paperwork, time records, and delivery documentation.
  • Participate in safety meetings and ongoing training.
  • Execute other duties as assigned by dispatch, supervisors, or management.
  • Demonstrate reliability, responsibility, and professionalism at all times.
Qualifications
  • Valid DZ License with air brakes endorsement (Z).
  • Clean Driver’s Abstract and CVOR.
  • Minimum age 25.
  • Minimum 5 years commercial driving experience, including 1 year in a relevant industry (ready‑mix preferred).
  • Ability to work independently with strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of construction or ready‑mix operations is an asset.
  • Ability to work overtime, early mornings, and Saturdays when required.
Physical Requirements
  • Lift up to 100 lbs, carry up to 70 lbs, and operate chutes.
  • Climb onto the mixer to add materials such as calcium.
  • Enter and exit truck multiple times per shift at various job sites.
  • Work in year‑round outdoor conditions (heat, cold, rain, mud, snow, ice).
