Senior Software Developer- Python, API and Data Engine Integration

On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for a Software Developer - Niche for a 8 month role.

We are seeking a Software Developer to design and implement web-based APIs that integrate with a SQL-based analytics engine. The project involves developing new APIs to ensure secure and scalable data flows in a hybrid on-prem and cloud environment.

• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs using Python frameworks (FastAPI or Flask)
• Design workflows for SQL analytics engine integration
• Optimize Microsoft SQL Server for complex calculations
• Deploy and manage solutions in hybrid environments (on-prem and cloud)
• Implement OAuth2/JWT authentication and secure coding practices
• Package applications with Docker and orchestrate with Kubernetes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for API integration

• Advanced proficiency in Python for backend development
• 3 years of experience in API development and deployment
• 3 years with Microsoft SQL Server
• Hands‑on experience with Azure, AWS, or similar cloud platforms
• Familiarity with OAuth2/JWT and encryption methods
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with automated CI/CD pipelines
• Background in banking or financial services
• Certifications in cloud, data engineering, or API technologies

This is a 8 month contract position with the possibility of extension.

Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This is a Remote role. Must be able to travel to the office location when required.
