We’re looking for a founding design engineer to help define how insurance work gets done through SMS. You will turn complex underwriting, claims, and broker workflows into fast, intuitive, and trustworthy conversational experiences. Your job is to make AI-driven insurance interactions feel simple, clear, and reliable for real customers and internal teams who depend on them every day.

You will work closely with the founders and early insurance partners to design and build the frontend surfaces around our SMS agents, dashboards, and internal tooling. This includes shaping how conversations look, how state and context are surfaced, and how teams understand and trust what the AI is doing. You will be responsible for the look, feel, and interaction patterns that define how Open Sesame shows up inside insurance workflows.

This role is for someone who cares deeply about design craft and product detail, but also knows how to ship. You will move fluidly between design and code, building with React, Type Script, and modern frontend tools, with enough full stack understanding to collaborate closely with backend and AI engineers. You will own the design system, obsess over UX details, and create repeatable patterns that make AI-native insurance experiences feel human and dependable.

We are looking for someone who thrives in high-autonomy environments, loves building things that people actually use, and wants real ownership in a fast-growing company. As one of the first engineers on the team, you will have outsized influence on the product, the customer experience, and the standards we set as we scale.

Compensation is $120–200k plus equity, a new Mac Book Pro, and more.
