Software Engineer, Backend; C#​/Cloud

Position: Software Engineer, Backend (C#/Cloud)
We are seeking a backend-focused C# engineer who wants meaningful ownership of real production systems. In this role, you will design, build, deploy, and operate core backend services end-to-end, contributing directly to product capabilities while helping shape how our cloud infrastructure, deployment workflows, and operational reliability evolve.

This is a backend-first position—not a pure Dev Ops role—but we expect comfort working across application code, cloud environments, and production operations to ensure the systems you build run reliably with minimal support.

Job Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain backend services in C#

Own features end-to-end from technical design through deployment and production operation

Develop and support integrations with external partners, utilities, and market systems

Improve system reliability, observability, scalability, and performance

Containerize and deploy services within cloud environments

Work directly with CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, logging, and runtime configuration

Contribute to Kubernetes adoption and cloud architecture evolution

Diagnose and resolve production issues across application, infrastructure, and data layers

Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and product teams to deliver customer value

Requirements

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada at the time of application

3+ years of professional experience building backend software systems in C#

Experience deploying and operating production services

Ability to debug and resolve issues across: application code, infrastructure/runtime environments, databases or data flows

Comfort taking a service from local development to reliable production operation with minimal hand-holding

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in high-ownership, evolving environments

Nice-to-Have Experience

Familiarity with containers, Kubernetes, or Azure cloud environments, including CI/CD workflows such as Azure Dev Ops

Strong grounding in relational data modeling and access patterns (e.g., Postgre

SQL, ORMs like Entity Framework)

Comfort with observability, incident response, distributed or event-driven systems, or data pipeline architectures

Background in smaller teams or growth-stage environments with high ownership and autonomy
