Summary
Bell Media is hiring a Senior Backend Developer to help build and scale the backend systems powering Crave, Canada’s #1 streaming platform. In this role, you’ll design, develop, and optimize backend services using AWS Lambda, Dynamo

DB, API Gateway, Java, and modern microservices. You’ll collaborate with Dev Ops to enhance CI/CD pipelines, improve performance for millions of users, and contribute to key architectural decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Build and maintain backend services using AWS Lambda, Dynamo

DB, API Gateway, and Java applications.

Partner with Dev Ops engineers to create rock‑solid CI/CD pipelines and ensure smooth deployments.

Optimize performance and scalability for millions of concurrent users.

Contribute to architecture decisions and help shape the future of Crave’s platform.

Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with speed and precision.

Critical Qualifications

5+ years in backend development, ideally in large‑scale distributed systems.

Strong Java expertise and hands‑on AWS experience.

Knowledge of microservices and RESTful APIs.

Familiarity with CI/CD and Dev Ops best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in video streaming or media platforms.

Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.

Additional Information:

For work arrangements that are ‘Hybrid’, successful candidates must be based in Canada and report to a set Bell office for a minimum of 3 days a week. Recognizing the importance of work‑life balance, Bell offers flexibility in work hours based on the business needs.
