Terms: 6‑month contract, subject to extension (multi‑year)
Location: Hybrid; 2+ days per week in Downtown Toronto
- Lead projects through all SDLC stages, coaching junior staff and ensuring the bank’s coding standards are maintained
- Work on complex projects impacting core banking operations
- Provide senior‑level technical analysis and support for end‑to‑end project teams
- Support on‑call as needed
- In‑depth knowledge of core banking processing and mainframe technologies
- 10–15+ years of system design, analysis and mainframe programming experience
- Knowledge of assembler, CICS and DB2 are assets
- Strong analytical skills for complex problem solving
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
This Lead/Senior Mainframe Developer role supports a major Canadian bank within its Personal & Business Banking portfolio. The position leads end‑to‑end SDLC delivery on complex, business‑critical mainframe initiatives, provides senior technical analysis and guidance to project teams, and mentors junior developers while ensuring adherence to the bank’s coding standards. The role requires deep expertise in core banking systems and mainframe technologies, backed by 10–15+ years of design, analysis and programming experience, along with strong analytical and organizational skills.
