Role OverviewWe are seeking a methodical and technically adept Intermediate QA Engineer to join our Platform team. Reporting to the Senior QA Lead, you will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of our core infrastructure, which facilitates millions of transactions within the parking and mobility ecosystem. This position transcends traditional front-end testing; you will be responsible for the rigorous validation of APIs, cloud environments, and third-party integrations to ensure our services remain performant, secure, and highly scalable.
Key Responsibilities- Design, write, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts (manual and automated) to validate software functionality, performance, and scalability.
- Lead regression testing efforts following major framework updates, security patches, and cloud infrastructure changes to ensure zero-day stability.
- Design and execute rigorous test suites for internal APIs and complex third-party integrations using tools like Postman or Insomnia.
- Conduct regular security probing of API endpoints and web interfaces to identify common vulnerabilities; perform manual quot;gray-boxquot; testing to verify data isolation and secure session handling across the platform.
- Continue the build-out of our automated test suite, integrating scripts into the CI/CD pipeline (Circle
CI/Git Hub Actions) to support continuous delivery. - Conduct performance and load testing to ensure the platform can handle high-volume transaction spikes without latency.
- Identify, document, and track software defects using project management tools.
- Advocate for quality throughout the software development lifecycle by contributing to testing strategies and process improvements.
- Participate in retrospectives and QA health checks to refine workflows and identify areas for improvement.
- Work closely with product owners, developers, and designers to understand requirements and ensure features are testable and meet user expectations.
- 3+ years of experience in software QA engineering, specifically focusing on backend and platform-level testing.
- Proven experience validating RESTful API services and complex data workflows.
- Understanding of performance testing principles and how to measure system stress.
- Strong knowledge of QA fundamentals including test case design, defect tracking and regression testing.
- Proficiency in maintaining and expanding automated test frameworks.
- Comfortable with CI/CD platforms (e.g., Circle
CI, Git Hub Actions). - A detail-oriented mindset with the ability to foresee how a minor framework update might impact downstream third-party integrations.
- Clear and professional communication skills both written and verbal.
- Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently in an Agile team.
- Experience with Rainforest QA or similar no-code/low-code automation platforms.
- Mobile QA experience (iOS/Android).
- Familiarity with test case management tools.
- Work Environment:
