Senior Test Engineer-Automation Testing

Overview

We are looking for a Senior Test Engineer for a permanent role. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in test automation using Java and modern automation frameworks, with the ability to design, develop, and maintain scalable automated test solutions for our banking client.

• Design, develop, and maintain reusable, maintainable, and scalable automation frameworks using Selenium (with Java) for end-to-end web application testing.
• Develop and execute automated API test suites using Rest Assured (Java-based), ensuring comprehensive validation of REST/SOAP services.
• Develop Rest API automation scripts using Rest Assured framework.
• Review and analyze test execution results, identify defects, and debug and fix issues in the automation framework and test scripts.
• Integrate automation suites with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git Lab, etc.).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on testing progress and quality metrics.

• Overall 10+ years of hands-on experience in automation testing for banking projects.
• Minimum 6 years of hands-on automation experience using Java, Selenium, Junit, TestNG, Maven, BDD Cucumber framework.
• Experience in writing test scripts using BDD framework maintaining and automating the scenarios using Java and Selenium Web Driver.
• Must have hands-on experience in API testing using Rest Assured libraries and Postman.
• CI/CD pipeline building experience through GITLAB, Jenkins, or Maven.
• Experience with bug tracking and test management tools like JIRA, Test Rail, or Zephyr.

• Banking domain experience is highly preferred.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Total compensation:

We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges between CAD 90,000 – 110,000 per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual performance-based bonus, as well as benefits that support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 4 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Toronto, province.
