Zurich Canada is currently looking for a Guidewire Developer (Policy Center) to develop & customize Guidewire Applications. Reporting to the Zurich Canada's Core Platforms Delivery Lead, you will help in customizing user interfaces, workflows, and business logic using Guidewire Studio and Gosu. This is a hybrid role.
What you will do- Guidewire Policy Center or Claim Center configuration, Java development.
- Full SDLC and appreciation for iterative (Agile) development lifecycle for Guidewire implementations.
- Guidewire implementation and configure/develop several areas of Policy Center and/or Claim Center.
- Inspire and bring out the best in individuals and develop a strong configuration team to deliver quality configurations.
- Large‑scale projects, including, but not limited to policy admin or claims systems.
- Bachelor's degree and ≥6 years of experience in database analysis or programming.
- OR High School Diploma or equivalent and ≥8 years of experience in database analysis or programming.
- OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with associate degree and ≥6 years of experience in database analysis or programming.
- Experience working at multiple phases of database management.
- Guidewire product configuration, development, and implementation.
- Strong object‑oriented analysis and programming experience.
- Strong integration development experience and strong JMS/Queue development experience.
- Experience with analysis and resolution of Guidewire or other application performance issues. Must have web service development experience/SOA and work with XML and JSON payloads.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Exposure to Java EE SDLC.
- Expertise in GOSU, Rules Engine, Data Model, PCF, Wizards, Workflow, Activity, XML, GUnit, Jenkins, GIT/Subversion/TFS, code coverage and scan tools.
- 2+ years of experience with at least one large business integration effort and project team through all phases of the project lifecycle.
- Expert level Guidewire/Java developer, preferred certified on version 10 or cloud.
- Insurance industry experience; commercial lines preferred.
- Strong conflict resolution skills.
- Agile and Dev Ops tools: JIRA, Git, Bamboo, SVN, Jenkins.
- Hands‑on technical expertise specifically related to integration to complex legacy mainframe applications.
- Organizational and analytical skills.
