Par Tech, Inc. is seeking a Vice President of Software Engineering to join our engineering leadership team. This role will oversee software engineering operations across our Punchh loyalty product, building a culture of software engineering excellence, Dev Ops culture, and most importantly, ownership. Working closely with our leadership team, this role is expected to set and drive the overarching strategy and approach, tackling key projects and initiatives to improve product quality, product economics and team productivity, while continuing to ensure we meet our R&D financial objectives.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Enterprise B2B SaaS products, leadership, a strong work ethic, and an excitement and willingness to tackle any project or challenge that should come their way. As a global company, the candidate must be willing to work across different regions and time zones. The role is primarily remote, but the candidate should expect to travel monthly or as‑needed.

Our team is distributed mainly across Toronto, Austin, and Jaipur.

The Punchh product generates almost $100M in ARR, handles over $25B of sales annually and pushes almost 15B emails and notifications annually. You are an ideal candidate if you have an aptitude for dealing with and solving challenges at scale and under pressure and are excited by the opportunity to grow another 10x.

Our product is a mix of Ruby on Rails and Go primarily but we have a fair amount of Python and Typescript in‑use too. We are heavy users of MySQL (and we have pushed to scale to identify exotic bugs), Kafka, Redis and Kubernetes. All of our teams are actively leveraging AI to improve their productivity.

• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience leading software engineering projects and teams
• Minimum of fifteen (15) years of software engineering experience; hands‑on technical skills at a senior level
• Proven ability to effectively manage and lead a multi‑location software engineering team
• Proven record of leveraging agile software engineering principles and practices
• Demonstrated track record of successfully hiring, managing, coaching and retaining world‑class software engineers
• Ability to influence and achieve alignment across a range of different opinions and interests
• Comfortable giving/receiving critical feedback to/from others, regardless of their position in the company
• Impartially and aggressively address conflicts and tough decisions
• Seek out, embrace, and evangelize positive change
• Able to concurrently execute short‑term (tactical) and long‑term (strategic) plans
