Position: Staff Android Engineer - Tangerine

In this role, you will:
  • Application Development:
    Design, develop, and maintain robust, efficient, and scalable Android applications using Kotlin and the Android SDK.
  • Technical Leadership:
    Serve as a technical expert on Android projects, providing guidance on best practices and emerging trends in Android development.
  • Code Quality & Reviews:
    Participate actively in code reviews to ensure quality, performance, and reliability standards are met.
  • Mentorship:
    Coach and mentor junior Android developers, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Collaboration:

    Work closely with cross-functional teams (QA, Backend, Product, Design) to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Performance Optimization:
    Optimize applications for speed, stability, and scalability, proactively identifying bottlenecks and proposing solution
  • Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • 5+ years of professional Android development experience, with a proven record of shipping apps to the Google Play Store.
  • Strong proficiency in Kotlin (Java experience is a plus).
  • Deep understanding of Android frameworks and components (Jetpack, Coroutines, Live Data/Flow, etc.).
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and third-party library integrations.
  • Strong understanding of Android app design patterns (e.g., MVVM, MVI, MVP).
  • Familiarity with Google’s Material Design Guidelines and best practices for Android UI/UX.
  • Tooling:
    Proficiency with Android Studio, Gradle, and version control (Git).
  • Testing:
    Experience with testing framework.
  • Agile Methodologies:
    Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum environments, including sprint planning, task estimation, and retrospectives.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and collaborate in a fast-paced team setting.
